34! I am the same age that my mother was when she gave birth to me.
It’s bittersweet now that I have a little one of my own, and to to ponder on what birthdays really are. If anything birthdays are so special to the parents, in a way much more meaningful than to the child having said birth day.
What was the day like?
How did the birth happen?
Who was there?
Those first moments where it’s just baby, mum, and dad – it’s magic.
…
My little one decided to celebrate my birthday by waking up every 2 hours to feed. She and her dad went off in the morning to pick up my birthday cake and I got to sleep in a little.
Kim ordered an extra bit of dessert so we had that in the morning to taste – followed by a coastal beach walk with just us three. Seeing the blue sky and feeling the ocean breeze really does help to renew the soul every now and then.
After lunch we got to the birthday cake – then somehow it was late afternoon already and we headed out for dinner at a local wine bar restaurant.
Spent the night time finishing up our packing and getting our food ready for tomorrow.
Looking forward to more family time on our holiday in the Gold Coast.
