Got our results back from the NIPT test and we found out it’s gonna be a baby girl.

I was a little disappointed – I didn’t realise that I had wanted a boy more until we heard that it’s a girl.

I’m not too sad, it was only a little disappointment as there are lots of perks to having a girl instead. Cuter clothes, less developmental issues, etc.

The NIPT showed that the baby is low risk for chromasomal abnormalities, down syndrome and I think I got tested for pre-clampsia risk as well. Will need to read the brochure again.

We’re lucky that the 13th week ultrasound for checking physical abnormalities turned out ok too. Still confused and unsure if we needed to do both. The ultrasound technician sounded very confident. We still have to check in with Dr. Lim to talk about it all I think.

I haven’t told mom yet, will be skyping her tomorrow and plan to tell them then. Not sure what to expect! Gonna be interesting. Told my brother and sister in law a few days ago, they’re excited for us. Caroline sounded like the pandemic is really getting to her socially – she talked nonstop for a while as if she hadn’t had adults to speak to for a long time and I don’t blame her. They’re staying in for the sake of the babies and it must be a hard thing to do for so long.

Not sure what will happen on the job front. I’m doing some freelance work but it’s almost distracting me from looking for full time permanent positions. I hope people are just slow to get back into the office, this period is the worst for job hunting.

Hmmm… What other updates are there… I think that’s all for now!
