My boobs no longer feel like mine. They’ve been swollen for a few weeks now, heavy, and a bit more sticky around the nipples than usual. Buttering up for breastfeeding I suppose!
Saw the baby on ultrasound today. Little heart beating at 178 beats per minute – some serious efforts! Hope baby is doing okay, growing safely. Kim had a moment after seeing baby’s little heart pumping. I was more surprised at how big it is now, and that we were able to see the heart beating. 7 weeks and 6 days… Have been reading the “what to expect when you’re expecting” book and the math is some sort of wizard math I still can’t quite comprehend. Implantation is an event considered to sit in the 4th week so, I guess it makes the baby a quarantine baby.
Am being a realist and not getting too excited or attached. Feeling mostly nervous when I think about the baby – just want it to be safe and healthy. Prior to the ultrasound I was worried it would be in the wrong place, but the specialist assured us that baby is cozy and tucked in the right spot. Phew!
Next up would be making sure baby doesn’t have any congenital disorders… Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly.
Is this the life of a parent? Just spending the whole time hoping baby is safe?
