A nurse came today from nsw health for baby’s first “blue book” check up.
Baby has gained back her birth weight in just a few days so we’re doing well with feeding and looking after her.
We also learned from the nurse how to clean between baby’s lady bits – super important for the long run.
Then baby had a bit of a sunbathing session and I think a lot of the jaundice has now subsided.
Kim and I both had a long nap, and I’ve been conscious of spending more time resting horizontally.
We’re both really thankful for Tyrone being able to stay with us in this time – without him I think the house would be in such a crazy state and Kim and I probably extra stressed out about the mess.
Was suddenly conscious of my intake of drugs. While I’m glad the antibiotic prevents infection for my wounds and to some extent mastitis, I also hate that it kills off a lot of the body’s natural goodness. Means a lot to have someone like Ty who can walk over to the chemist to pick up things like probiotics and more diapers. Hopefully the anti inflammatory drug and panadol will be enough for the remainder of the healing process.
Was not prepared for the pain and lack of mobility for this fourth trimester. However, Reddit and the Mamastefit content on healing have been helpful for my mental well-being.
