For my current freelance contract, I had the opportunity to travel to Lausanne for a meeting this week. It was a lot more tiring than I had imagined… From the London office to the door of our hotel in Lausanne took 7 solid hours of being in transit.
The time I did manage to walk around a bit with my coworker was quite nice, we saw a lot of hilly streets filled with chocolateries, deli shops selling sandwiches and baguettes, and a small Christmas market with wafting smells of mulled wine. It was refreshing to be out of the polluted London air.
I hope I never forget my flight departing Geneva, the mountain ranges protecting the city below – it was so beautiful I was tearing up a bit. No doubt I was slightly emotional from being so tired, but the mountainous scenery also reminded me of home in Vancouver.
